Isaiah Thompson enters his first season on the Purdue Basketball staff as a grad assistant, after spending three seasons at Purdue and his final two seasons at Florida Gulf Coast University.
Thompson was part of a pair of NCAA Tournament teams at Purdue in 2021 and 2022, reaching the Sweet 16 in 2022 and helping Purdue to its first No. 1 ranking in school history in Dec. 2021.
Thompson will be responsible for opponent scouting, film breakdown, helping with individual workouts and administrative duties as he enters the collegiate coaching ranks.
He appeared in 152 career games, scoring 1,260 points with 234 career 3-pointers and 233 assists, averaging 14.9 and 14.1 points, respectively, over his last two seasons at FGCU.
Thompson comes from a coaching family, as his father La Salle played basketball overseas following his college career and now serves as a personal trainer. His brother, P.J., serves as the Boilermakers’ offensive coordinator.
