· Won his lefty-lefty matchups in LOOGY appearances vs. Indiana and Ohio State

· Pitched his first two collegiate seasons at Heartland Community College in Bloomington, Illinois
· Appeared in 13 games as a sophomore, going 7-3 with 48 strikeouts and 40 hits allowed in 51 innings

· Helped Heartland reach the NJCAA Division II regionals both years
