De LaRiva pitched in 14 games and started the midweek home game vs. IPFW... struck out a career-high nine (of 19 batters faced) over 4 1/3 innings of one-run relief in the Big Ten opener vs. Nebraska... worked at least three innings in six of his 13 relief appearances... earned the win vs. Ball State with seven innings of shutout relief... did not issue a walk vs. Ball State while matching Tanner Andrews' outing at Penn State two weeks earlier for the most successful long-relief outing by a Boilermaker since 2013... worked a scoreless inning of relief in each of the final two games of the Ohio State series... surrendered only one run over 3 1/3 innings of relief at Penn State. 2013 Season
De LaRiva pitched in 14 games, making two starts... started the series finale at Evansville and the midweek opener against Butler... earned victories against Connecticut (2 2/3 IP, 2 R, 0 BB, 2 K) and Samford (3 IP, 1 R, 2 K) early in the season... awarded with the win in his collegiate debut as Purdue defeated UConn in the season-opener... pitched in Big Ten games against Northwestern, Illinois, Nebraska and Michigan State... induced a big bases-loaded double play versus the second batter he faced in his Feb. 22 outing against Samford, setting the stage for his best outing of the season... worked a scoreless inning of relief in midweek games at Indiana State and home against Illinois-Chicago... struck out the side in the seventh inning while surrendering a run on two hits in the finale of the Northwestern series.
High School
De LaRiva was a four-year letter-winner for coach Mike Zunica at St. Rita High School on the South Side of Chicago... three-year varsity starting pitcher went 12-1 as a junior to garner all-conference and all-area honors... posted a 5-2 record as a sophomore... went 9-1 for the freshman team in 2009... helped St. Rita win the 2009 summer state title and finish as the runner-up his sophomore and junior years.
