- Dressler was a four-year letter-winner for coaches Justin Cronin and Tom Dorrance at Hinsdale Central High School in suburban Chicago
- Three-year member of the varsity was an All-West Suburban Conference honoree as a junior
- Went 2-1 with 30 strikeouts, a 2.30 ERA and 1.26 WHIP as a senior
