2014 Season
Academic All-Big Ten... Maniago played in 44 games and started 38 times, primarily at third base... made 34 starts at third base and started four straight games at second base in early April... also saw action at shortstop in a reserve role early in the season... started 19 of the 24 Big Ten games... contributed to 11 of Purdue's 54 double plays... did not commit an error in 16 straight games from March 16 through April 12... finished the season strong, seeing average rise from .162 on April 5 to .231 at the end of the year... had day to remember in series-opening win at Michigan State, going 3-for-5 with his first collegiate home run and scoring the go-ahead run in the 11th inning... left-handed hitter batted .295 vs. lefties... batted .333 with two outs... posted back-to-back two-hit games in the first two games of the Rice and Michigan series... also had multi-hit games against LSU, Illinois-Chicago and Iowa... batted .302 with a team-high 11 runs scored in April... reached base safely in eight of his 17 of his plate appearances in midweek action.
