2014 Season
Kenney pitched in 11 games and started the series opener at Rice... also saw action as a pinch runner in the 11-inning win at Michigan State and had his first collegiate at-bat in the series finale with Ohio State... picked up his fourth career save by closing out the win at Illinois State with two innings of one-hit relief... retired five of the next six batters he faced in the ISU win after giving up a two-run single to the first hitter he faced... also made relief appearances against Tennessee, LSU, San Diego State, Southern Illinois, IPFW, Illinois-Chicago, Michigan State, Michigan and Iowa... gave up only two extra-base hits in 11 innings... induced a 6-4-3 double play in his inning at LSU... worked two scoreless frames in the 16-inning marathon at Southern Illinois... worked a scoreless sixth inning in the home-opening win against IPFW... induced a 6-4-3 double play and retired three of the four batters he faced while putting up a scoreless ninth inning vs. Iowa. Kenney pitched in 14 games, all in relief... earned saves in victories against Connecticut, Cincinnati and Evansville... recorded a save in his collegiate debut, working two innings of one-hit relief in the season-opening win against UConn... induced a big double play and brought the UConn win to an end with the tying run at the plate... had another strong outing in series-opening win at Evansville, getting a big out in the seventh inning to maintain Purdue's one-run lead and going on to work 2 1/3 innings of one-hit relief... struck out the only batter he faced for the final out in the win at Cincinnati... worked a scoreless inning of relief at Mississippi State and Indiana State.

High School
Kenney was a four-year letter-winner for coach Clint Smothers at Warren Township High School in Gurnee, Ill.... also lettered four times in football, serving as the varsity's starting quarterback... hit 21 home runs in his high school career, including a school record 13 as a sophomore when he was the starting shortstop on the varsity team... all-conference and all-area honoree as sophomore and junior after batting .400 each season... hit six home runs and stole 26 bases as a senior... kicked a 49-yard field goal as a senior, the longest in school history... named to all-academic team.
