2012 Season
Second Team All-Big Ten... Big Ten All-Tournament Team... NCAA All-Gary Regional Team... Serrato started all 59 games, one of only two Boilers to do so... after being the team's top utility man in 2011, made 56 of his starts in right field... also saw action at third base and as the designated hitter... hit the big three-run homer in the seven-run seventh inning in the comeback win against Southern Miss that saw the Boilers score all seven runs with two outs... connected for a grand slam in the series-opening win against Michigan State, the first slam by a Boiler at Lambert Field since 2010... also went deep against Ohio State, Nebraska, UCLA and Michigan... Purdue was 5-1 when he went deep in 2012 and 7-1 in his career... hit safely in all three games of the East Carolina Tournament and Big Ten Tournament as well as the series against Murray State, Ohio State and Nebraska... had three hits and scored the first run of the Big Ten Tournament championship game win against Indiana... doubled twice in the NCAA Regional win against Valparaiso, delivering a two-out, two-run double in the fourth inning to Purdue ahead for good... had multiple hits in five consecutive games during a 13-for-23 stretch in May... homered as part of a four-hit game in the win at UCLA... drove in a run in five straight games in April, recording an RBI in all three games of the Nebraska series in the process... also recorded an RBI in all three games of the NCAA Regional... doubled twice as part of a three-hit, two-RBI effort in the comeback win against Notre Dame.

First Team All-Big Ten... Big Ten Player of the Week (Feb. 21)... Big East-Big Ten Challenge All-Tournament Team Honorable Mention... Serrato played in all 57 games and started 56 times, starting games at right field (24), third base (14), shortstop (9) and designated hitter (9)... also batted at least once in third through eighth spots in the order, making a team-high 36 starts in the five hole... one of only three players that saw action in every game... finished the year as the starting third baseman but did not start more than eight consecutive games at the same position... ranked second in the team in RBIs (42), runs scored (50), walks (32) and sac flies (6)... hit both of his home runs and walked (15) more than he struck out (14) in Big Ten play... went 7-for-12 with the base loaded... batted .351 with runners in scoring position... with a runner on third and less than two outs, plated that runner in 21 of his 25 opportunities... reached base safely in 21 consecutive games from March 6 through April 8... drove in a run in 11 of the first 14 games of the season... posted five multi-hit games in February, finishing the opening month a team-best 14-for-24 with nine RBIs and 11 runs scored... recorded a team-high 13 RBIs during the nine-game road stretch in April... finished the month of April with 16 RBIs and more walks (10) than strikeouts (8)... went 9-for-26 with a team-high 10 runs scored during the eight-game homestand in May... batted .348 with 12 walks and a team-high 19 runs scored at home... delivered the game-winning, two-run single with two outs in the ninth inning of the comeback win at Ball State... scored the game-winning run in the series-opening walk-off win against Indiana... hit safely in all three games of the Big East/Big Ten Challenge as well as every game of the series against Minnesota and Illinois... drove in a run in all three games of the Big East/Big Ten Challenge and scored a run in every game of the Morehead State and Iowa series... Big East/Big Ten Challenge (Feb. 18-20): earned Big Ten Player of the Week honors after 6-for-9 weekend, recording multiple hits and driving in a run in the wins against Connecticut and Pittsburgh... at Morehead State (Feb. 26-27): continued hot start to the season with an 8-for-15 weekend, recording three hits in the games one and three wins; scored a team-high eight times and saw his first action in the outfield... at Tennessee-Martin (March 11-13): drove in the game-tying run in the ninth inning of the game two win with a one-out single; also gave Purdue the lead with a two-run single in the sixth inning of the series finale... at Tennessee Tech (March 18-20): walked in all three games of the series, reaching base safely six times and scoring three runs... Wabash (March 23): doubled and scored twice as the starting shortstop... at Minnesota (April 1-2): highlighted by a three-hit effort in the opener, finished the series at Target Field 6-for-13 while starting all three games at DH... Michigan (April 8-10): returned to right field, connecting for his first collegiate home run (off the scoreboard) in the opener and recording two hits in both games one and three... at Ball State (April 12): delivered the game-winning hit in the ninth inning and finished the game at shortstop after starting in right field... at Penn State (April 15-17): homered again in a series-opening win and recorded a career-high four RBIs in the rubber game victory, finishing the weekend 4-for-12 with four runs scored... at Illinois-Chicago (April 20): doubled home a pair and scored twice in the midweek win... at Northwestern (April 23-24): saw his first action of the season at third base and delivered three RBIs in the rubber game win... Indiana (April 30-May 1): played flawless defense at third base in the series sweep, recording three and a pair of RBIs in the finale... Ball State (May 11): back in right field, reached base safely and scored a run in each of his first three plate appearances... Illinois (May 13-15): hit safely in all three games as the starting right fielder, doubling in the game one win... Illinois-Chicago (May 17): enjoyed another big game against UIC, recording a hit and scoring a run in each of his first three plate appearances... Iowa (May 19-21): walked and scored in all three games, drawing six total free passes on the weekend... at Big Ten Tournament (May 25-27): singled twice and walked in the loss to Minnesota, delivering with a runner in scoring position in the eighth inning but Tyler Spillner was thrown out at the plate... Big Ten Rankings: third in sac flies, sixth in runs scored and seventh in RBIs.
2010 Season
Serrato played in 35 games and started 23 times, primarily at shortstop ... was the starting shortstop in the first two and final two games of the season ... helped Purdue turn 15 double plays ... posted an eight-game hitting streak from Feb. 27 through March 14 ... walked (10) more than he struck out (8) in true road games ... batted .348 with eight walks and 12 runs scored in March ... Big East/Big Ten Challenge (Feb. 26-March 1): went 4-for-12 with a double, triple, three RBIs and four runs scored; had two hits and three RBIs vs. West Virginia ... at Southern Illinois (March 5-7): started the first two games of the series going 4-for-8 with four walks and six runs scored; reached safely five times and scored three runs in the opener ... at Evansville Tournament (March 12-14): hit safely in all three games, finishing the weekend 4-for-11 with three runs scored; started at DH vs. Le Moyne ... Chicago State (March 26-27): went 4-for-7 with a double, two walks and two RBIs in the doubleheader sweep, starting both games at shortstop ... at Chicago State (April 20): recorded a two-run single after entering the game as a defensive replacement ... at IPFW (April 27): knocked in Purdue's first run of the midweek win with a double ... at Iowa (May 21-22): started games two and three, finishing the series 2-for-7 with a double, walk, RBI and run scored ... Big Ten Tournament (May 26-28): played in all four games, starting the final three contests; finished the tourney 2-for-10 with two walks, RBI and run scored.
