Haase pitched in 17 games and made a team-high 13 starts... after beginning the year in the bullpen, started a game in every Big Ten series as well as the Big Ten Tournament... honored as the team's Pitcher of the Year... led the team in wins (6) and innings pitched (82 1/3) while ranking second in ERA (3.39) and strikeouts (55)... struck out 27 batters on a called third strike, the most in the Big Ten... posted victories against Morehead State, Louisville, Minnesota, Michigan, Penn State, Indiana and Iowa... also started and kept Purdue in the game at top-ranked Vanderbilt on the spring break trip... went the distance in his shutout win against Minnesota at Target Field, earning Big Ten Pitcher of the Week honors... also pitched six scoreless innings against the Gophers at the Big Ten Tournament before they finally broke through with a run against him in the seventh inning of the 1-0 final... pitched 14 consecutive scoreless innings over four appearances from March 20 through April 2... finished one out shy of a complete game in his wins against Louisville and Indiana... won both of his starts during the early-season eight-game win streak... posted a 3.32 ERA and .263 batting average against, issuing only two walks in his 19 innings, over his five appearances in March... led the way in April with a 2.18 ERA, earning wins in three of his five starts... gave up only two earned runs and did not issue a walk while posting a .195 batting average against in his two midweek starts... went 2-0 with a 1.99 ERA and .242 batting average in his six appearances at home... Big East/Big Ten Challenge (Feb. 18-20): pitched in relief in the wins against Connecticut and Pittsburgh... at Morehead State (Feb. 26-27): started and won the finale of the four-game series, working five innings of four-run ball... at Louisville (March 8): led Purdue to its first win at Louisville since 1998 by giving up only two earned runs while not issuing a walk over 8 2/3 innings... at Vanderbilt (March 15): battled the No. 1-ranked team in the country, leaving in the sixth inning after surrendering five runs while striking out four... Illinois State (March 22): started the home opener in his final midweek appearance of the year, working two hitless innings and striking out three... Bradley (March 25-27): finished off the home win with two hitless innings of relief... at Minnesota (April 1-2): struck out a career-high seven in his first collegiate complete-game shutout; did not give up an extra-base hit while leading Purdue to its only victory of the year against the Gophers... Michigan (April 8-10): was deserving of a win after leaving the game with Purdue leading 5-1, working seven innings and striking out seven for a second consecutive start... at Penn State (April 15-17): earned the victory in the rubber game of the series with 5 1/3 innings, giving up only one earned run on three hits... at Northwestern (April 23-24): tagged with five runs over three innings and the loss after failing to register a strikeout for the only time as a starter in 2011... Indiana (April 30-May 1): bounced back by giving up only one earned run over 8 2/3 innings, striking out six as Purdue completed the series sweep... at Michigan State (May 6-8): did not issue a walk over 5 1/3 innings but took the loss after giving up six runs, five scoring on home runs to right field... Illinois (May 13-15): bounced back from a rocky start to work six innings, giving up four earned runs and leaving with the game tied; struck out six... Iowa (May 19-21): led the way as Purdue completed the series sweep, surrendering only one earned run over six innings... at Big Ten Tournament (May 25-27): was the tough-luck loser in the 1-0 nail biter, giving up only two hits through the first five innings; leadoff man reached in the seventh inning and eventually scored against the Purdue bullpen.
2010 Season
Academic All-Big Ten ... Haase pitched in 19 games, all in relief ... his 32 innings pitched were tops among pitchers that did not start a game ... led the staff with a 2.81 ERA ... earned the victory in the finale of the Indiana series and posted saves against IPFW and Michigan State ... surrendered an earned run in only five of his 19 appearances ... went six straight appearances without allowing an earned run from April 14 through May 16 ... limited opposing hitters to a .222 average with two outs in an inning ... surrendered only one earned run in 12 1/3 innings over seven appearances at home ... made five appearances in midweek action, surrendering only one earned run in 8 2/3 innings over five appearances ... was consistent throughout the season, posting a sub-3.00 ERA in March, April and May ... worked two innings of scoreless relief in home wins against Chicago State and Valparaiso ... struck out the side in his inning of relief in win at Chicago State ... did not give up an earned over a season-high 5 1/3 innings of relief in the Big Ten Tournament game against Iowa ... appeared in three of the five games against Iowa, including both at the Big Ten Tourney ... earned the win in the rubber game at Indiana with an inning and two-thirds of one-hit relief ... also made relief appearances in Big Ten games against Minnesota, Northwestern and Illinois.

Big East/Big Ten Challenge (Feb. 20-22): Appeared in two games and was charged with a loss after allowing two earned runs on three hits in 1 1/3 innings to Notre Dame ... at Texas State (March 6-8): Threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings in one appearance ... at Butler (March 11): Tossed three shutout innings out of the bullpen to earn first career victory ... at Tennessee-Martin (March 20): Worked two innings of relief, allowing two runs on one hit ... Iowa (April 3-4): Appeared in one game and surrendered two runs on three hits in one inning ... Ball State (April 7): Closed out the game with 1 2/3 scoreless innings. Struck out three and walked none ... at Penn State (April 10-12): Appeared in one game and allowed two runs on three hits in a third of an inning ... Indiana (May 2-3): Charged with second loss after allowing two runs on six hits 4 1/3 innings pitched ... Illinois (May 14-16): Surrendered two unearned runs on two hits in two innings of work ... Big Ten Tournament (May 20-22): Appeared in one game and allowed three runs on three hits in a third of an inning.

Earned four varsity letters in baseball at Knightstown High School ... Hit .298 with three home runs and 15 RBIs as a freshman ...
