Karmell Brown is in her first season as a graduate assistant with Purdue Women's Basketball, following one season as the analytics volunteer in 2020-21.

Currently pursuing an MBA at Purdue, Brown served as an assistant coach at Franklin & Marshall for the women's basketball team. Brown spent the previous two seasons as an assistant coach at Denison University in Granville, Ohio where she helped in all aspects of recruiting, aided in the daily practice implementation, and headed the junior varsity program.

The Denison staff was named the 2019 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Coaching Staff of the Year after the Big Red advanced to the NCAC Championship game and finished the season with an 18-9, 12-4 NCAC record.

In addition to her coaching role with the Big Red, Brown served as the Associate Director of the Annual Fund at the University. Before making her way to Denison, Brown was the Assistant Director of Admissions at her alma mater, Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana. During that time, she spent three years as the girl's varsity head basketball coach at Seton Catholic High School where her team broke the record for most wins in a season, as Brown went on to become the program's all-time winningest coach.

Graduating from Earlham in 2013 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business & Non-Profit Management, Brown was a four-year letter winner and team captain her senior year. She also received the Kathryn Weber Scholar-Athlete Award following her senior season.
