Abby Abel joined the Purdue Women's Basketball staff in the summer of 2019 after spending the last four years as a member of the Boilermakers' squad. Her role as a graduate assistant will include opponent scouting, film breakdown, helping with individual workouts and administrative duties.
Abel was a finalist for the 2019 Wooden citizenship Cup, presented annually by Athletes for a Better World, which is given to the most outstanding role models among athletes of every level. Serving as a spark for Purdue during her four years on the team, Abel was named a Co-Grant Marshal of the 2018 Indianapolis 500 Festival Parade due to her work with Special Olympics. She was also named the Keynote Speaker at the 2018 USA Special Olympics in Seattle.
