<br /><br />Jordan Rzepka placed fourth in 1-meter diving in his sixth consecutive championship final appearance and Ethan Shaw moved into second place in team history in the 500 freestyle, highlighting Thursday at the Big Ten Championships for Purdue men's swimming & diving.

COLUMBUS, OhioJordan Rzepka placed fourth in 1-meter diving in his sixth consecutive championship final appearance and Ethan Shaw moved into second place in team history in the 500 freestyle, highlighting Thursday at the Big Ten Championships for Purdue men's swimming & diving.

In the dive well, Jordan Rzepka placed fourth in the championship final and Holden Higbie won the consolation final in his official debut at Big Tens. Rzepka earned his fourth career top-five finish at the conference championships while remaining perfect at 7-for-7 in career top 10s. Max Miller also scored in the prelim as the Boilermakers earned 50 team points in 1-meter diving.

Shaw posted Purdue's best time (4:19.62) in the 500 free since Batuhan Hakan set the team and freshman record (4:18.43) in the event at the 2018 Big Ten Championships. Shaw moved into second place in team history while joining Hakan as the only Boilermakers to ever go sub-4:20 in the event. He scored in the B final.

Brady Samuels led the way as Purdue had four scorers in the 50 free. Samuels finished second (top 10 overall) and Idris Muhammad fourth in the B final. Freshman Nathaniel Thomas moved into 11th place in team history with a lifetime best mark of 19.74, taking runner-up honors in the C final.

Samuels and Muhammad also teamed up with Andrew Witty and Charlie King on a medley relay for the second day in a row. The quartet registered the third-fastest time in team history (3:06.94). Samuels went 45.57 on the leadoff leg for a team season-best mark in the 100 back.

Senior Aaron Frollo scored in the C final of the 500 free after a posting a lifetime best mark 4:23.11 in the prelims, moving into seventh place in team history. Freshman Mason Kajfosz joined Purdue's all-time leaderboard in the 200 IM with a time of 1:47.82.

The Big Ten Championships continue Friday with swimming prelims at 10 a.m., diving prelims at noon and the finals session at 5 p.m.
