Postgame Notes
- No. 1 seed Purdue's historic season came to an end as Fairleigh Dickinson upset Purdue 63-58 on Friday night in Columbus, Ohio.
- Purdue had earned its fourth No. 1 seed in school history (1988, 1994, 1996, 2023). The Boilermakers are just 6-4 as the No. 1 seed in school history.
- Purdue's 58 points were its second-lowest total of the season (Maryland – 54). Fairleigh Dickinson entered the game with the fifth-worst defensive efficiency in the country.
- The Boilermakers lost their first neutral-site game of the season, ending the year with a 7-1 neutral-site record.
- Purdue's 29 victories were the second most in a season in school history and Purdue's 58 wins since the start of last year are the most in school history.
- Zach Edey tallied 21 points, 15 rebounds, three blocks and an assist. It marked his 27th double-double of the season (one off the school record set by Caleb Swanigan in 2017) and his 39th career double-double.
- Edey finished the season with 757 points, 438 rebounds, 72 blocked shots and 52 assists. He set the school record for most rebounds in a season (438) and is the first player nationally in the last 30 years to have at least 750 points, 400 rebounds, 70 blocks and 50 assists in a season.
- Edey's 438 rebounds are the fourth most in Big Ten history behind three seasons by Ohio State legend Jerry Lucas.
- Edey is the only player in Big Ten history with 750 points and 400 rebounds in a season.
- Fletcher Loyer finished his freshman year with 384 points, good for fourth on the all-time Purdue freshman scoring list (540 – Russell Cross; 437 – E'Twaun Moore; 394 – Walter Jordan). His 59, 3-pointers were third all-time among Purdue freshmen.
- Braden Smith finished his freshman year with 340 points, 147 rebounds and 153 assists. The 340 points rank 11th on the Purdue freshman chart, while his 153 assists are a Purdue freshman record. His 43 steals ranked tied for fourth.
