ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Brady Samuels, Nick Sherman and Jordan Rzepka all qualified for championship finals again and Coleman Modglin was victorious in the B final of the 200 breaststroke, highlighting the final session of the Big Ten Championships for Purdue men's swimming & diving.
Samuels (5th in 100 freestyle), Sherman (6th in 200 breast) and Rzepka (7th in platform diving) all competed for Big Ten titles and finished the meet having scored in all three of their individual events. Sherman accomplished the feat for the fourth year in a row, finishing top six in the 200 IM, 200 free and 200 breast. Rzepka was top seven in all three diving events and improved to 6-for-6 in career top 10 showings at Big Tens.
Ethan Shaw (1:46.33, 11th in 200 butterfly), Andrew Swenson (1:44.41, 13th in 200 backstroke) and Aaron Frollo (15:27, 19th in 1.650 free) all posted career-best times that moved them up the Boilermakers' all-time leaderboards. They all scored via top 20 overall finishes.

Modglin rallied to win the B final of the 200 breast with a time of 1:55.66. Along with Sherman in the A final plus Andrew Alders and Andrew Witty in the C final, Purdue racked up 49 points with the four scorers in the event. Modglin joined Sherman and Rzepka as active Boilermakers to win a B/consolation final at Big Tens.
Sam Bennett, Liam Walker and Shaw joined Samuels, Sherman and Rzepka as Boilermakers to score in all three of their individual events.
Samuels and Sherman teamed up with Idris Muhammad and Keelan Hart to take fourth place in the 400 free relay to close out the meet. Purdue was also fourth in the 200 medley relay to open the championships Wednesday.
Bennett was a three-time consolation finalist in the dive well, improving on his platform score from the 2022 Big Ten Championships by 50 points. Shaw was a B finalist in the 200 fly and Walker scored in the C final of the 200 fly.
With Skyler Younkin and Shaw leading the way as B finalists, Purdue had four scorers and enjoyed another 40-point event in the 200 fly.
Dylan Burau became Purdue's lone freshman to score at Big Tens this season, qualifying for the C final of the 200 back. Younkin accounted for a team season best (1:45.39) in the 200 fly Saturday. Frollo (1650 free), Samuels (42.41 in 100 free), Sherman (1:54.01 in 200 breast) and Swenson (200 back) did likewise Saturday.
Selected Purdue swimmers will race at next weekend's Boiler-Make-It NCAA Last Chance meet. The Boilermakers are also planning to send as many as 12 swimmers to the CSCAA National Invitational Championships the weekend of March 9-11 in Elkhart. The divers compete next at the NCAA Zone C Championships, also set for March 9-11 in Bloomington.
