WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue women’s golf and volleyball teams have received the NCAA Public Recognition Award for posting a multi-year Academic Progress Rate (APR) among the top 10 percent of their sports.
The APR is an annual scorecard of academic achievement calculated for all Division I sports teams.
Volleyball is among the 85 teams that have earned Public Recognition Awards every year of the 13-year old program and an even more select group that has never lost an APR point.
Women’s golf is being honored for the first time.
The APR measures the eligibility, retention and graduation of student-athletes. The most-recent APR scores are multi-year rates - or a rolling four-year average - based on the scores from the 2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17 academic years.
APR scores for all Division I teams will be released May 23.
