WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Two individuals have joined the Purdue athletic department administrative staff. They are William Gill and David Brauer.
Gill comes on board as an academic advisor, working primarily with the football program. Most recently, Gill served as a juvenile counselor at the Virginia Boys Center. Gill was an athletic academic advisor at Arizona State in 1997-98 and also has experience at Christopher Newport University (Newport News, Va.) and Thomas Nelson Community College (Hampton, Va.). A 1984 graduate of Richmond with a bacheolor's degree in leadership studies, Gill was a four-year member of the football program.
Brauer assumes the position of sports information assistant, created by the departure of Tony Greco. Brauer will work with cross country, wrestling and baseball while assiting with men's basketball and football. He arrives at Purdue fresh off a year-long internship with the Cleveland Browns in their media relations office. Brauer is a 2000 graduate of Illinois with a bachelor's degree in sports management. He worked as a student assistant in the Fighting Illini athletic public relations office for two and a half years. Brauer also interned with the Buffalo Bills during their 1998 training camp.
Both Gill and Brauer will begin Aug. 6.
