Sean Pugh is in his fourth season as director of player development. He was hired Jan. 13, 2017.
In his role, Pugh counsels student-athletes and coaches, leads Bible studies, organizes community service initiatives and works with the student-athletes on life skills development.
Pugh joined the Boilermakers after serving in a similar capacity as Western Kentucky’s football character coach from 2008 to 2016.
Pugh also has served as a pastor at the Hillvue Heights Church (2010-15), the Western Kentucky campus director of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (2014-16) and as the lead pastor at Church on the Main (2015-16). He got his start in collegiate athletics in the FCA’s training program at Auburn from 2007 to 2008.
A four-year letterwinner as an offensive lineman at Western Kentucky, the Hilltoppers advanced to the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs twice during Pugh’s career. He graduated in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in physical education and went on to earn a Master of Theology from Campbellsville University in 2014.
Pugh and his wife, TraShana, have twi daughters, ShemaYah.abd ZioniYah.
