WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The registration deadline has been extended, and spaces remain available to join Purdue football great Ryan Kerrigan on May 11 for a golf event that will help raise funds for scholarships.
Kerrigan, who will be inducted into the Purdue Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame on May 10, was a 2010 consensus All-American for Purdue at defensive end and a member of the 2013, 2016 and 2017 NFL Pro Bowl teams representing the Washington Redskins. He will play a major role in the Ryan Kerrigan/12th Boiler Golf Outing the following day on the Ackerman-Allen Course at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex on the Purdue campus.
Purdue's Trademark Licensing Office, in conjunction with the National Football Foundation's Joe Tiller Chapter of Northwest Indiana, is sponsoring this scramble event for the 10th straight year.
The cost is $165 per adult player, covering lunch, golf cart, and 18 holes of golf, plus a reception/meal at the Voinoff Pavilion afterwards. For those who cannot stay for the reception, the cost is $150. The price for college-age students is $75.
In addition to Kerrigan, who was the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year in 2010 and the first-round draft choice of the Redskins, several other Purdue celebrities will play in the event, including former Boilermaker players.
Proceeds will be split equally between the 12th Boiler Scholarship Fund, which endows a football scholarship in Purdue Athletics; the NFF Scholarship Fund, which helps high school students who are headed into their first year of college; and Kerrigan's "Blitz for the Better" Foundation, which helps children in need in the Washington metropolitan area.
