Dan Bedoy is in his first season as the Boilermakers[apos] volunteer assistant coach, rejoining his alma mater after wrestling for the Old Gold and Black from 2003 to 2006. A 2006 NCAA Championship qualifier for Purdue at 165 pounds, Bedoy has been a coach with the Boiler Elite Wrestling Club for the last two years.
Bedoy was an assistant coach at Munster High School in 2008, helping the Mustangs earn three spots on the podium, one of their highest number of state placewinners in school history.
As a member of the Boiler Elite staff for the past few years, Bedoy has assisted with a variety of duties including development, scheduling, membership recruiting and practice planning. In his tenure, the club has been named a Regional Training Site with USA Wrestling as well as earning Indiana State Wrestling Association Club of the Year honors in 2010. Also, a pair of former Boiler Elite Wrestling Club members have earned scholarships on the Boilermakers[apos] current roster.
Bedoy earned his bachelor[apos]s degree from Purdue in 2010, majoring in sociology.
