Marshall competed primarily in the freestyle sprints... eclipsed the Purdue freshman record in the 50 free at the Big Ten Championships, besting Rhiannon Sheets' mark from earlier in the season by one one-hundredth of a second... honored with the team's P2S award... her season-best times in the 50 (23.11) and 100 free (50.50) from Big Tens both ranked fourth fastest on the team in 2011-12 as well as ninth and 12th best in Purdue history... qualified for the C final of the 50 and 100 free at Big Tens, placing third in the 50... also competed in the 200 free (1:51.04) at Big Tens... raced in the 100 free in every meet in which she competed except the Indiana Intercollegiates, where she swam the 50 free and 100 fly... accounted for five team points at the Ohio State invitational after qualifying for the B final of the 50 and 200 free... swam the anchor leg on Purdue's 200 free relay team at the Big Ten Championships that posted the second fastest time in program history... swam the 200 fly in the dual meets against Michigan State and Indiana... 200 fly time (2:09.65) ranked fifth fastest on the team in 2011-12.

Before Purdue: Four-year varsity letter-winner was part of four consecutive IHSAA state championship teams at Carmel High School... three-year Indiana state qualifier won the 50 free as a senior... also a top 16 finisher in the 200 and 500 free as a sophomore and 50 and 100 free as a junior... helped five Carmel relay teams win state titles, including the 400 free as a sophomore, 200 free and 200 medley as a junior and senior... senior year 200 medley relay team set a national public high school record... Academic All-American as a junior... Mental Attitude Award recipient her senior year... also qualified for junior nationals qualifier with her Carmel SC club team.
