NCAA Championships Qualifier (50 & 100 Free, Relays)... Three-Time Big Ten Swimmer of the Week (Nov. 12, Nov. 26 & Jan. 14)... Mercer competed primarily in the freestyle sprints... her season-best times in the 50 (23.03, 3rd), 100 (49.80, 2nd) and 200 free (1:49.14, 3rd), all from the Big Ten Championships, each ranked among the top three on the team in 2011-12... her times also rank eighth, fifth and 11th in program history... also swam on all three of Purdue[apos]s freestyle relay teams at Big Tens... accounted for three team points by qualifying for the B final of the 100 free at the Big Ten Championships... also reached the C final of the 50 free at Big Tens... accounted for 34 team points at the Ohio State Invitational, placing fifth in the A final of the 50 free, seventh in the A final of the 100 free and second in the B final of the 200 free... also swam on Purdue[apos]s 200 and 800 free relay winners at Ohio State... won the 100 free and finished second in the 100 in the dual meet win against Notre Dame... won the 200 IM and swam the anchor on the victorious 200 medley relay team at the Indiana Intercollegiates... swam on both relay winners in dual meet victories against Michigan State, Northwestern and Miami.
Before Purdue
Attended the University of Arkansas during the 2010-11 school year where she posted the Razorbacks[apos] seasonal top times in the 50 (22.84) and 100 free (49.51) at the SEC Championships... she broke the school record in the 100 free twice at the SEC meet, first in the individual event and later as the leadoff leg on the 400 free relay... her 50 free time on the leadoff leg of 200 free relay was the second fastest in Arkansas history... four-year varsity letter-winner and 16-time All-American at Hamilton Southeastern High School... established new Hamilton Southeastern records in the 50, 100 and 200 free... won the state title in the 100 free as a sophomore... also part of state championship 200 medley and 400 free relay teams as an underclassman... state runner-up in the 50 and 100 free as a senior... also led four relay teams to runner-up finishes at state during her upperclassman years... Hamilton Southeastern was a three-time state runner-up... team captain and MVP as a senior... two-time spirit award winner as an upperclassman.
