Chaz Calloway
Chaz Calloway is in his second season with Purdue Athletics and his first working with the Purdue women’s basketball team. He manages the sports performance aspects of the program’s weightlifting, conditioning, mobility and rehab workouts. Calloway has also worked with the Purdue men’s and women’s tennis teams, along with the swimming program. Calloway is a National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a USA Weightlifting Level 1 certified coach. Prior to his arrival in West Lafayette, Calloway spent most of the previous seven seasons at his alma mater Cincinnati. From 2018-2023, Calloway was the assistant strength and coaching coach and internship director for the Bearcats. In his role, he worked closely with the baseball, cross country, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s swimming and track & field programs. He took on the role of internship director in 2018 and oversaw the Olympic sports intern development program. He started at Cincinnati with two stints as a football strength and conditioning intern during the 2016 and 2017 seasons. He also managed the sports performance strategies with the baseball, women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s golf and track & field teams. During the spring of 2017, Calloway was the strength and conditioning intern at Mount St. Joseph handling all sports. Calloway got his start in the field as an intern at Xavier during the 2015 fall season, spending his time with men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, men’s and women’s swimming & diving, track & field and men’s and women’s golf teams. He has two degrees from UC, earning a bachelor’s degree in sports administration in 2014 and a master’s in exercise science in 2017.
