Amie Anthrop enters her first season as the director of operations for the Purdue women’s basketball team in 2023-24, following two seasons as the supervisor for softball operations with the Boilermakers. She handles the day-to-day operations of the program, including contracts, camps and travel.
Prior to jumping into the collegiate ranks, Anthrop was the head coach girls’ basketball coach at Clinton Prairie, Harrison and Fountain Central over nine seasons. She amassed 144-65 record during her time as a head coach and earned a spot as an assistant coach for the Indiana Junior All-Stars in 2021.
Anthrop also served as a physical education teacher for three years at Clinton Prairie High School, following time as a social studies teacher at Harrison and Fountain Central.
She earned her bachelor's degrees in history and international studies from Southern Indiana, graduating in 2011. She holds a master’s degree in sports administration from Liberty and a school administration certificate from Indiana Wesleyan.
Anthrop played and started all 112 games for Southern Indiana from 2008 to 2011. She tallied 1,336 career points for 11.9 per game, while shooting 41.2% from the field and 40% from behind the arc. She ended her time with the Screaming Eagles ranked first in all-time free throw percentage (82.8%), fourth in 3-pointers (148), fifth in made free throws (328), sixth in scoring and eighth in steals (164). She was the second player in Southern Indiana history to record 1,000 points and 300 assists in a career. She was named Academic All-GLVC all four seasons.
She attended Clinton Prairie High School, where she lettered in basketball, volleyball and track. She closed her career with 1,329 points and finished 12th in the state in scoring in 2008 with 21.8 points per game. She was a four-time all-conference honoree and picked up a trio of all-county laurels.
Amie (Newhart) Anthrop married Jade Anthrop, who played four seasons for the St. Joseph’s College men’s basketball team, where he shot 40% from the field over 71 career games.
Amie and Jade have three children, Ollie, Asher and Lennon.
