Lexi Valone Season 2014

2017 (RS Senior)

• Academic All-Big Ten
• Started 20 of the 48 games she appeared in in the outfield ... Found her swing late in the season as she hit .381 in the final nine games of the regular season with eight hits in 21 at-bats to raise her batting average to .245 on the year (Apr. 21 - May 8) 
• During that stretch she registered two doubles and her first career home run to elevate her slugging percentage to .347 
• Also drove in six runs during her hot streak including five RBI in the crucial Nebraska series that clinched Purdue's Big Ten Tournament berth (May 6-8).

2016 (RS Junior): Did not play due to injury.

2015 (Junior)

• Saw action in 43 games, starting 28, 25 in left field and three in right field reached base via hit, walk or hit by pitch in 11 games, including a pair of two-game hit streaks 
• Tallied multiple hits in three games
• Batted .159 with 11 runs, three doubles, two triples and two RBI
• Scored five game-winning runs
• Drew three walks and laid down two sacrifice bunts
• Stole three bases
• Made good on all 22 defensive chances for a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage 
•  In Big Ten play, managed five hits, including two doubles, and scored three runs
• Drew one walk and stole one base.

2014 (Sophomore)

• Saw action in 25 games, starting five - four in left field and one in right field
• Acted mostly as a pinch hitter or pinch runner 
• Batted .267 with four hits in 15 at-bats, including a double
• Went 2-for-3 at the plate against Illinois
• Tallied two perfect days at the plate
• Scored three runs and drove in three RBI 
• Drove in two RBI with a pinch hit single against Michigan State
• Drew two walks
• Made good on all four defensive chances.

2013 (Freshman at Bowling Green State)

• Played in 48 games, starting 34 in the outfield
• Registered four hits, including a triple against IPFW 
• First collegiate hit came in a 1-for-3 effort against Murray State
• Drove in an RBI against Dayton
• Scored four runs: one each vs. Campbell, Western Kentucky, Evansville and Ball State
• Drew three walks and laid down two sacrifices
• Stole one base
• Recorded 27 putouts and three assists

High School

• A three-time All-South Suburban Conference honoree, earning the accolade each of her last three years
• Garnered all-area acclaim as a senior
• Posted a career batting average of .449 with 121 RBI
• Registered a career slugging percentage or .745 and scored 94 runs
• Hit a Lemont High School record 18 career home runs
• Led team in batting average, steals, home runs and RBI as a rookie 
• Led team to regional appearances her sophomore and junior years 
• Four-year honor roll member 
• Homecoming Queen ... also lettered in cheerleading
• Played travel ball for the Lemont Rockers and the Cincy Doom
• selected as an All-Star in Rising Star Maximum Exposure Tournament in Davie, Fla., and as an all-American at the Colorado Sparkler Tournament

Favorite thing about my position: I am the last line of defense. I have to get it done or else runs will definitely score.

Favorite thing about playing at Bittinger Stadium: Being able to be one of the few people who are able to step on that field and represent Purdue.
My favorite place to play in the Big Ten, besides home: IU, because I love the rivalry.
