Khristian Carr is currently in her second season with Purdue Football, joining Ryan Walters' staff in West Lafayette and serving as the director of player development.
 
As the director of player development, Carr assumes responsibility for identifying potential areas of both personal and professional growth in our student-athletes and providing the staff with a holistic perspective on student-athlete development, while providing leadership guidance, and identifying logistical strategies to expand the list of options for the student-athletes.  She will also ensure that the student-athletes under her tutelage will have a robust support system that enables them to thrive academically and athletically.
 
Prior to ascending to her current position, Carr served as the senior coordinator for student-athlete development at Purdue. In this position, she exhibited a concerted approach by fostering valued relationships with coaches, student-athletes, staff members, and external partners. She managed social media outlets, supervised community service initiatives for 18 varsity sports, and co-abetted with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee to promote the welfare of student-athletes. Also, Carr served as a member of the Purdue Athletic Title IX Planning Committee and the Purdue Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. Her unwavering commitment to these areas has been pivotal in ensuring the success of student-athletes, both on and off the field.
 
Carr’s expertise and experience allows her to collaborate effectively with various community entities, organize speaking engagements that aim to educate student-athletes on crucial topics, including financial literacy, mental health and well-being, diversity, equity, inclusion, and student-athlete identity.
 
Carr began her career as the coordinator of student-athlete development at Mississippi State University. During her time, she spearheaded several crucial initiatives that proved to be highly beneficial for student-athletes that participated in volleyball, softball, women's golf, and women's track and field. She was responsible for organizing new student-athlete orientation, facilitating the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and managing educational sessions to teach interview techniques and resume writing skills. Carr also led the Bulldogs Experiential Learning Internship program within the athletic department, which aimed to provide student-athletes with valued work experience.
 
A native of Starkville, Mississippi, Carr attended Mississippi State University.  Her educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in communication and a master’s degree in workforce education leadership. She is a four-year volleyball letterwinner at the same institution.
 
Carr is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, Women Leaders in College Sports, and the National Association of Academics and Student-Athlete Development (N4A). Additionally, she serves on the Management and Professional Staff Advisory Committee (MaPSAC) at Purdue.
