At the Purdue Invite, scored in the B final of the 200 IM
Also won his prelim heat of the 200 breast and qualified for the C final of the 100 breast at the Purdue Invite
Runner-up in the 100 IM at the season-opening Indiana Intercollegiates

 Four-year Indiana state qualifier for coach Tom Johnson at Concord High School near South Bend
 CHS Athlete of the Year as a senior
 Three-year USA Swimming Scholastic All-American
 Team MVP as a sophomore and senior; all-around award honoree as a junior
 Finished among the top 15 in the 200 IM three times at state, including sixth as a senior
 Also a top-15 finisher at state in the 100 back, 100 breast and 200 free relay during his career
 Three-year all-conference honoree after being honorable mention as a freshman
