· Barta competed primarily in the freestyle sprints and 100 backstroke
· Posted a career-best time in the 100 free (46.86) in a time trial at the Purdue First Chance, his final collegiate meet
· Had season-best times in the 50 free (21.34) and 100 back (50.97) at the Purdue Invitational
· Also raced in the 100 free and 200 back at the Purdue Invite, finishing third in the B final of the 200 back to account for six team points after winning his heat of the prelims

· Posted season-best times in the 100 (50.38) and 200 back (1: 48.49) along with the 50 free (20.95) at the Big Ten Championships
· Had season-best times in the 100 (46.95) and 200 (1:44.04) free at the Minnesota Grand Prix
· Also had strong showings in the 100 (50.62) and 200 back (1:48.62) along with the 50 free (21.38) at Minnesota Grand Prix
· Finished fourth in the B final of the 100 back and as the runner-up in the D final of the 200 back at Minnesota
· Also won his heat of the 200 free in Minneapolis
· Runner-up in the 100 free as Purdue's top finisher in the dual meet win at Miami (Ohio)
· Helped Purdue record a 1-2-3 finish in the 200 back in the dual meet win vs. Michigan State.
2013-14:

· Barta competed primarily in the backstroke events
· Posted season-best times in the 100 (50.78) and 200 back (1:49.79) at the Michigan First Chance meet
· Raced in five events at the Minnesota Grand Prix, posting a season-best time in the 50 free (21.59) as well as strong times in the 100 (50.79) and 200 back (1:50.79)
· Returned to action in time for the Big Ten Triple Duals after suffering a broken collarbone on the winter training trip in Hawaii
· Raced in the 100 breaststroke at the season-opening Indiana Intercollegiates, winning heat 3.
2012-13:
· Barta competed primarily in the backstroke events
· Season-best times in the 100 (50.34, 4th) and 200 back (1:47.88, 2nd) from the Big Ten Championships both ranked among the top five on the team in 2012-13
· Also raced in the 50 free at Big Tens, posting a time of 20.94
· Accounted for five team points at the Purdue Invitational by placing fourth in the B final of the 200 back
· Also raced in the 50 and 100 free, 100 fly along with the backstroke events at the Purdue Invite
· Won the 100 back in the dual meet win at Miami (Ohio)
· Part of the travel roster for the January trip to Michigan for back-to-back dual meets in East Lansing and Ann Arbor.
Before Purdue:
· Barta was a four-year Wisconsin state qualifier for coach Bob Jenkyns at Arrowhead High School in Hartland, Wis.
· Runner-up in the 100 back at the state meet as a junior
· Won the 15-to-16 age group state title in the 100 and 200 back at the club level
· USA Swimming Scholastic All-American
· First Team All-Area as a senior
