2011-12: Ung competed in six different events, racing primarily in the 50 free and 100 back... posted season-best times in the 50 free (20.96) and 100 back (51.18) at the Ohio State Invitational, where he also competed in the 100 fly (51.64)... qualified for the B final of the 50 free and the C final of 100 back at the Ohio State Invitational... was among the eight Purdue swimmers that traveled to Dallas for the Classic @ SMU, representing Purdue in the 50 free and 100 and 200 back as well as the 400 medley relay... swam the leadoff backstroke leg on victorious 200 medley relay teams in dual meet victories against Miami and Northwestern... finished second to Brian Kiel in the 100 back in the dual win versus Notre Dame... season-best time (1:58.91) in the 200 back came at SMU... season-best time (47.23) in the 100 free was against Notre Dame.
2010-11: Ung competed in six different individual events, including freestyle sprints as well as the 100 back, breast and fly... only saw action in one second-semester meet, competing unattached at the Ohio State Winter Invitational... still managed to post Purdue's fourth-fastest time of the year in the 100 back (50.23), finishing third overall at the Purdue Invitational... took third in the B final of the 50 free at the Purdue Invite, posting a season-best time (20.88) in the preliminaries... posted his season-best time in the 100 free (46.08) while swimming the leadoff leg for the victorious 400 free relay team in the dual meet win at Northwestern... record a season-best time in the 100 fly (50.98) while reaching the B final at the Purdue Invite.
