• Also raced in three events, the 50 (22.35) and 200 free (1:43.84) as well as the 100 back (53.60), at the season-opening Indiana Intercollegiates

• Lettered for coach Shawn Smith at Cherry Creek High School in suburban Denver, where he also ran cross country as an underclassman
