Mitch Krywulycz enters his third season with the Purdue men's golf program. Krywulycz joined the program in mid-August prior to the 2016-17 season.
A year ago, Krywulycz helped Purdue to its fifth straight NCAA Regionals appearance while posting a pair of team victories and the second-best team stroke average in school history. Krywulycz was instrumental in the development of a trio of freshmen that were all ranked in the top 11 on the single-season Purdue freshman stroke average chart.
During his first year, Krywulycz helped Purdue to its third NCAA Championships appearance in the last four years. Purdue produced the second-best stroke average (290.26) and the highest percentage of rounds under or even par (12-of-35) in school history. Three golfers finished in the top 15 of the single-season stroke average chart, with all three earning PING All-Midwest Region accolades.
Krywulycz also excelled on the recruiting trail, helping Purdue to one of its top classes in school history. His efforts were instrumental in landing Jason Hong, one of Australia's top amateurs, for the class of 2017.
"I am very excited to come to West Lafayette and join Purdue. The college golf community has a tremendous amount of respect for Coach Bradley and the work he has been able to accomplish in his short time here," Krywulycz said. "The combination of the Birck Boilermaker golf complex and our young talented group of student-athletes makes Purdue men's golf of the most exciting rosters in the country. I'm extremely thankful for the opportunity to join the Boilermaker community."
Krywulycz arrives in West Lafayette after an outstanding career at Augusta State from 2007 to 2011, helping the Jaguars to back-to-back National Championships in 2010 and 2011. He secured victories in both National Championship matches, including a down-to-the-wire victory to clinch the 2010 national title.
Following his time at Augusta State, Krywulycz grabbed two top-20 finishes in his first season on the eGolf Tour before landing consecutive top-five placements in 2012.
He finally broke through in 2013, winning The Sedgefield Classic in May for his first professional victory. Krywulycz competed in the Web.com qualifying tournament and advanced to the final stage.
Krywulycz was a member of the PGA Latin America tour for 2014 and 2015 before earning full status for 2016. He won the 2015 Volvo Colombian Masters and a runner-up finish in the 2014 Ecuador Open.
He joined the Augusta staff in January 2016, helping the Jaguars to an NCAA Regional berth in Stillwater, Oklahoma, where the Jaguars missed an NCAA Championship berth finishing sixth just two shots behind Purdue and the final qualifying berth.
Krywulycz joins a surging Purdue program entering its fourth year under Bradley in 2016-17. The Boilermakers have advanced to the NCAA National Championships in two of the last three years and return four regulars from last year's team as well as welcoming in a highly-regarded recruiting class.
