Braden Welsh enters his first year as the strength and conditioning coach for the Purdue men's basketball program during the 2021-22 school year.
Welsh arrived at Purdue after spending two seasons at Temple University in Philadelphia. With a young team, Welsh helped the Owls to wins over USC, Texas A&M, Davidson, Wichita State and UConn in his first year at Temple in 2019-20 under head coach Aaron McKie.
Welsh arrived at Temple from the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, where he spent two years as a physical strength and conditioning coach, responsible for programming, delivery and scheduling for all 14 of the academy’s basketball teams.
Prior to his time at IMG, Welsh spent a year as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of Illinois, working with the men’s and women’s tennis teams while assisting with the men’s and women’s basketball teams.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Eastern Illinois in 2015. Welsh has been an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist since 2015.
