2020-21
• Appeared in all 28 games with five starts, averaging 3.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game.
• Shot 39.0 percent from the field, 26.6 percent from 3-point range and 56.5 percent from the free throw line. Also added 17 steals and 13 blocked shots.
• Recorded second career double-double in win over Indiana State (10 points, career-high 13 rebounds, 4 blocks).
• Played his best ball of the season late in the year. Over the last six games, averaged 6.2 points and 4.8 rebounds while shooting 7-of-13 (.562) from 3-point range and 11-of-20 (.550) from the field.
• Scored 11 points (3-of-3 3Ps, 2-of-2 FTs) with six rebounds in a big win over No. 25-ranked Wisconsin late in the year.
• Added eight points and seven rebounds in the regular-season finale against Indiana. In six career games against the Hoosiers, Wheeler averaged 5.3 points and 3.7 rebounds in just 15.2 minutes. Shot 11-of-25 from the field and 7-of-18 from long distance.
• In 11 career games that he scored in double-figures, Purdue went 10-1. 
• Entered the transfer portal following the season. 

2019-20
• Appeared in all 31 games with nine starts, averaging 3.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game.
• Was fifth on the team with 21 3-pointers and third with 11 blocked shots.
• Recorded first career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds against Chicago State.
• Scored 11 points (4-4 FGs, 3-3 3Ps) with three rebounds and two assists in a road win over Indiana (Feb. 8).
• Scored 11 points (3-4 3Ps) in the Crossroads Classic against Butler.
• Tallied 10 points with nine rebounds, two assists and two steals in the season-opening win over Green Bay.
• Finished the year 17 of 20 (.850) from the free throw line.
• Had at least seven rebounds in eight games.
• Grabbed four steals against Texas in the second game of the year.
• Dished out five assists in games against Marquette and Minnesota.

2018-19
• Wheeler had a strong freshman season, averaging 4.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game in 13.7 minutes per outing.
• Shot 36.5 percent from 3-point range (31 of 85) and added 17 blocks and 21 steals. Was one of 18 freshmen nationally and just one of four Big Ten freshmen (Romeo Langford, Izzy Brazdeikis, Joe Weiskamp) to have at least 30 made 3-pointers, 15 blocked shots and 20 steals. He was one of three players to do so in under 900 minutes -- Wheeler did it in 495.
• His 31 made 3-pointers were the 10th most by a Purdue freshman in school history. He is the tallest Purdue player (6 feet, 9 inches) to make at least 30 3-pointers in a season.
• Had a strong postseason appearance, averaging 6.0 PPG and 2.8 RPG in 12.8 MPG during Purdue's action in the Big Ten and NCAA Tournaments.
• Shot 11 of 18 (.611) from the field and 6 of 11 (.545) from long distance during Purdue's postseason. Averaged 6.0 PPG and 5.0 RPG in Purdue's contests against Tennessee and Virginia.
• Shot 26 of 44 (.591) from the field and 17 of 35 (.486) from long distance against ranked teams, averaging 5.9 points per game.
• Three of his four double-figure scoring games came against ranked teams (15 vs. Maryland; 11 vs. Michigan State; 10 vs. Iowa). Also added 10 points, seven rebounds in the home finale vs. Ohio State.
• Posted four games of perfect shooting from the field (at Michigan, Michigan State, Old Dominion, Villanova).
• Made at least two 3-pointers in six games (5-1 record).
• Provided several high-flying dunks during the season, showcasing his athletic ability.
• Incredibly bright future and will get better with more minutes and experience. 

2017-18
• Spent the year as a redshirt and will have four seasons of eligiblity, beginning for the 2018-19 season.

HIGH SCHOOL
• A 3-star recruit from Brewster Academy, Wheeler committed to Purdue on Oct. 17.
• Moved into the Rivals Top 150 after a solid senior year at Brewster.
• Took one official visit during the fall -- to Purdue. Northwestern, Michigan, Arkansas and Creighton were trying to get Wheeler in for official visits before he committed.
• Turned down offers from Pittsburgh, Providence, Rhode Island, Temple and Seton Hall.
• Has great size, length and athleticism on the wing. Has a lot of tools to be a very good player in the Big Ten Conference.
• Called an "undeniable talent with still untapped potential. He's capable of making plays in the open floor, gets well above the rim with ease, covers the court gracefully and is a consistent threat from the 3-point line". -- New England Recruiting Report.
• "Has tremendous length and quickness and can guard a couple different positions at our level," Brewster head coach Jason Smith said.
• Owns a 7-foot wingspan.
• As a junior was named third-team All-NEPSAC AA, one of the best prep leagues in America.
• Brewster Academy has won four national championships in the last six years.
• Played AAU basketball for Mass Rivals on the Adidas Gauntlet series and was part of a team that won the Adidas Championship this summer.
