2023-24

• Gillis had another outstanding season, being named the Big Ten's Sixth Man of the Year after averaging 6.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.
• Made 46.8 percent (58-of-124) from long distance, ranking sixth nationally in 3-point percentage among players that made at least 50, 3-pointers.
• The 46.8 percent ranked fifth in school history.
• Finished career making 40.7 percent (150-of-369) from 3-point range, good for seventh on Purdue's career chart.
• A relentless worker who always played hard, Gillis hauled down 47 offensive rebounds on the season and owned a 2.06 assist-to-turnover ratio (66 / 32).
• Scored at least 10 points seven times, including a season-high 16 points at Nebraska. Also added 14 points in big home wins vs. Northwestern and Minnesota.
• Had at least five rebounds in 15 times, including eight in the Elite Eight win over Tennessee.
• During his career, Purdue went 44-5 when he made at least two 3-pointers and 24-4 when he scored 10 or more points. Two of the losses came in the NCAA Tournament.
• Finished career with 827 points, 548 rebounds and 179 assists (6.3 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 1.4 APG) in 132 games with 63 career starts.

2022-23
• Gillis had another solid season, appearing in 32 games with 15 starts. He averaged 6.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game in 20.5 minutes per outing.
• Shot 37-of-104 (.356) from 3-point range, 71-of-155 (.458) from the field and 39-of-49 (.796) from the free throw line.
• Had a strong Big Ten Tournament, averaging 10.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game, while shooting 11-of-17 (.647) from the field and 4-of-10 (.400) from 3-point range. He scored 20 points with nine rebounds on 7-of-8 shooting in the quarterfinal win over Rutgers.
• Set a Mackey Arena record and recorded the second-most 3-pointers in a game with nine in a win over Penn State (Feb. 1). Tallied a career-high 29 points with three rebounds in the victory.
• Recorded double-figure scoring games against West Virginia (14), Nebraska (10), Iowa (10), Penn State in the Big Ten Tournament (10) and Fairleigh Dickinson (10).
• Hauled down at least three offensive rebounds in six games and was third on the team in offensive rebounds (41).
• Named to Jon Rothstein’s “All-Glue Guy Team” for the second straight year.
• Grabbed 10 rebounds in 18 minutes against Ohio State.
• Dished out four assists in wins over Austin Peay and Michigan State and owned a 1.32 assist / turnover ratio (41 / 31).
• Named to the Big Ten's All-Academic Team for the third time. 

2021-22
• Gillis had a solid sophomore campaign, averaging 6.4 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game, while starting the last 25 games of the season.
• Shot 49.6 percent from the field, 41.4 percent from long distance and 85.0 percent from the free throw line, narrowly missing becoming Purdue's 3rd player to combine to shoot 180 from the three levels (Jaraan Cornell - 1998; Troy Lewis - 1988). 
• Named to Jon Rothstein's "All-Glue Guy Team" after giving maximum effort every time he steps on the floor. 
• Was 1-of-9 players nationally to shoot at least 48.0 percent from the field, 40.0 percent from 3-point range and 85.0 percent from the free throw line, while averaging at least 6.0 points per game. 
• Grabbed 49 offensive rebounds, including at least three in six games (four of the last five games of the season). 
• Pulled down a career-high 11 rebounds (5 offensive) in the win over No. 16 Ohio State. 
• Scored a career-high 14 point in a road win over Penn State. 
• Had at least 10 points in nine games (6-3 record). 
• Named to the Big Ten's All-Academic Team. 

2020-21
• Gillis had a strong rookie season, appearing in all 28 games, drawing the starting nod in the last 23 contests.
• Averaged 5.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game while shooting 46.5 percent from the field, 35.2 percent from deep and 81.4 percent from the free throw line.
• Was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Dec. 21, after averaging 9.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in wins over Ohio State and Notre Dame. 
• Scored in double-figures in four games, coming against Notre Dame (12 pts, 9 rebs), Penn State (12 pts, 5 rebs), Minnesota (11 pts, 9 rebs) and Northwestern (11 pts). 
• Went 4-of-4 from the field and 3-of-3 from long distance in the win over Northwestern.
• Dished out three assists five times this season.
• Went 27-of-45 (.600) from inside the 3-point line this season. 
• Named to the Academic All-Big Ten team. 

2019-20
• Sat out the 2019-20 season as a redshirt. Will have four years of competition beginning with the 2020-21 season.

HIGH SCHOOL
• A four-star recruit, Gillis was ranked No. 122 in the 247Sports rankings and No. 132 by Rivals.
• Verbally committed to Purdue on June 24, 2018.
• Averaged 21.6 points, 12.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game as a junior, helping New Castle to a Class 3A Regional title. Gillis shot 59.5 percent from the floor and made over 45.0 percent of his 71 3-point attempts.
• Missed his senior season with a knee injury suffered during the summer following his junior campaign. Is back to 100 percent for his freshman season at Purdue.
• Extremely versatile player that will work very well in Purdue’s motion offense. Can play anywhere from the shooting guard to power forward position.
• Was an Indiana Junior All-Star following his junior season.
• Turned down offers from Ohio State, Butler and Xavier.
• Was also one of the state’s top baseball players, Gillis has opted to give up baseball and focus on basketball.

• Older sister, Lauryn, played volleyball at Wisconsin, graduating in 2018. She originally began her career at USC.
