2017 (JUNIOR)

• Finished fourth at the Indiana Intercollegiates with an 8k time of 25:50.7
• Finished 84th at Big Tens
• Had a season-best 8k time of 25:18.0 at the Nuttycombe Invite

2016 (SOPHOMORE)

• Finished 47th at Big Tens with an 8k time of 25:39.0
• Finished 48th at the Great Lakes Region with a 10k time of 31:42.2
• Finished ninth at the Indiana Intercollegiates
• Finished fourth at Tennessee Tech

2015 (Redshirt)

• Did not compete while redshirting.

2014 (Freshman)

• Took ninth place at the Indiana Intercollegiates 8k open run with a time of 26.20.9.

High School: Four-year letterwinner in track and cross country; two-year letterwinner in swimming; cross country team won the Sectional Championship his first three seasons; earned Newcomer of the Year award for cross country his freshman year; was the cross country Sectional Champion as a sophomore with a personal record of 16:33; placed 21st at State in the 3200m his sophomore season; placed seventh at State in the 3200m as a junior; placed 19th at State in the 4x800m and 3200m as a senior; track team won the Sectional Championship his senior season; competed in the National Junior Olympics for cross country in 2006 and 2010; competed in the National Junior Olympics for track in 2006 and 2007. 

Personal: Matthew James Grider was born to Fred and Ruth Grider on March 5, 1996; has one brother, Tom, and one sister, Kim; plans to major in engineering; chose Purdue because his siblings, parents and grandpa all attended; enjoys juggling and riding unicycles.
