Sadowski Honored at Schleman-Hovde Classic John Purdue Club Member Recognized for Her Dedication to Women's Athletics

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Mary Sadoswki, a John Purdue Club member since 1989, received the prestigious Black Coat Award at the annual Schleman-Hovde Golf Classic held today at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex. The Black Coat Award recognizes a John Purdue Club member for his or her interest and dedication to women's athletics at Purdue.

Sadowski, a season-ticket holder for numerous sports, has served on Purdue volleyball's Gold Block board and was a charter member of women's basketball's Boilermaker Network. In addition, she has served on search committees for coaches, has been a faculty recruiter for many Boilermaker athletes and helped in the preparations for hosting numerous women's basketball NCAA Tournament games.

Sadowski, a member of Purdue's technical graphics department, has also been active in the community and around the campus. She is a member of the Book of Great Teachers at Purdue and recently received both the YWCA 1999 Service Award and the 1999 Purdue Outstanding Teacher Award.
