WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - As spring sports heat up around the country, Purdue stands in 27th place in the NACDA Directors' Cup Division I standings with 262.75 points.
Most recently, the Boilermakers netted 27 points for having their women's basketball team advance to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. Additional winter finishes included men's indoor track and field (6th), men's swimming and diving (27th), wrestling (27th) and women's swimming and diving (36th).
Michigan leads the way with 950 points, followed by eight-time champion Standford with 875.25.
Purdue ranks seventh among Big Ten teams. In addition to Michigan, Penn State is third (683 points), Ohio State fourth (657), Minnesota sixth (557), Wisconsin seventh (548.75) and Indiana 19th (395.5).
The NACDA Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 20 sports - 10 women's and 10 men's. Each national champion receives 100 points.
