Blake Wrestling Training Center

  • Watch

In 2005, Purdue wrestling moved into the Blake Training Center, located inside Lambert Fieldhouse on the southern side of Mackey Arena. It contains two full-size competition wrestling mats, an area for cardio machines and a room for video study. It features over 4,300 square feet of unobstructed wrestling area with reversible mats that show drilling areas on the back side. The mats rest upon a floating support surface, giving the Blake Training Center one of the top wrestling surfaces in the nation. The new facility cost over $500,000 and was enabled by the generous donations over 200 Purdue wrestling fans, friend and alumni.

Over the past two seasons, several additions have been made to the facility including various pieces of exercise equipment, training utilities and the Sandford & Pricilla Johnson Film Room. Two remote cameras have been placed in the room to tape practices, workouts and matches for team study and review.
