Purdue Sits 28th In Directors' Cup Standings Boilermakers net 52 points for women's golf 22nd-place finish

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - As spring sports wind up around the country, Purdue stands in 28th place in the United States Sports Academy Directors' Cup Division I standings with 414.75 points.

Most recently, the Boilermakers netted 52 points for having their women's golf team finish 22nd at the NCAA Championships.

Eight-time champion Stanford leads the way with 1,021.5 points.

Purdue ranks No. 7 among Big Ten teams. Michigan is second with 1,018.25 points, Penn State third (735.5), Ohio State fifth (727.5), Minnesota 11th (595.5), Wisconsin 12th (548.75) and Indiana 26th (429).

The United States Sports Academy Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 20 sports - 10 women's and 10 men's. Each national champion receives 100 points.

The next update will be published June 11, with the final standings to be issued upon the completion of the Collge World Series.
