Purdue Ranks 30th in Directors' Cup Standings Boilermakers scored points in four winter sports

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Through the completion of the winter championship season, Purdue stands in 30th place in the NACDA Directors' Cup Division I standings with 298.75 points.

Michigan is currently in first place with 817 points, a 115.25 point advantage over eight-time champion Stanford.

Recent national finishes by the men's track and field team (6th), wrestling team (27th), men's swimming team (27th) and women's swimming teams earned the Boilermakers 198.75 points. Other sports included in the winter sports standings were fencing, skiing and women's track and field.

The NACDA Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 20 sports - 10 women's and 10 men's. Each national champion receives 100 points.

Through the most recent release of standings in the Directors' Cup, Purdue is seventh among Big Ten Conference schools. Seven of the 11 member institutions in the Big Ten rank in the top 30, with Michigan (1st), Penn State (4th), Ohio State (6th) and Wisconsin (8th) ranking in the nation's top ten.
