Promotions Manager Chosen as Finalist for John McLendon Award Kendra Bracken one of 10 finalists for postgraduate scholarship

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue athletic promotions manager Kendra Bracken was selected as one of 10 finalists for the inaugural John McLendon Memorial Minority Postgraduate Scholarship Awards by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics. Five of the finalists will be selected to receive a $10,000 grant to be used toward postgraduate studies.

The awards recognize minority seniors with at least a 3.0 grade point average who intend to pursue a postgraduate degree in athletics administration and have demonstrated leadership qualities on an institutional or community level. Bracken, who will graduate with a degree in public relations this May, has served as a promotions manager in charge of track and field for two years. In addition, she serves as the editor of the Purdue Black Cultural Center's monthly newsletter, an intern with the Indiana Pacers and the Indiana Black Expo. Bracken will begin graduate school at Ball State in the fall.
