WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue women's basketball head coach Katie Gearlds welcomed the newest addition from the transfer portal to the Boilermaker family with the signing of forward Saige Stahl.
Stahl, a native of Seymour, spent the last two seasons at Indiana State before her arrival in West Lafayette. Stahl averaged 5.0 points and 5.1 rebounds over 45 games with nine starts for the Sycamores.
The rising junior posted a career-year with the Sycamores in 2024-25, averaging 7.4 points and 7.2 rebounds in 21.2 minutes of action. She shot 53.2% from the floor. She notched six double-doubles and eight games in double-digit scoring.
She ranked eighth in the Missouri Valley Conference in rebounding last season, while her 80 offensive rebounds tied for third. Stahl was one of 17 underclassmen to average better than seven points and seven rebounds while shooting 50% or better last season.
Her freshman campaign saw her make 19 appearances for 1.7 points and 2.2 rebounds per night.
Stahl was twice named an Indiana All-Star during her prep career and earned IBCA Supreme 15 All-State honors as a senior. She had a standout senior campaign for Columbus East in 2022-23, averaging 26.0 points, 9.9 rebounds, 3.1 steals, 1.2 assists and 1.0 blocks per game, finishing second in the state in scoring as a senior. Her junior year finished with 17.9 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.5 steals, 1.9 assists and 1.3 blocks per game in 2021-22.
