WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Adding a guard with international and professional experience, Purdue women's basketball head coach Katie Gearlds officially welcomed Israeli guard Hila Karsh to the Boilermaker family.
Karsh will arrive in West Lafayette this summer as a true freshman after playing the last five years in the Israeli National League with Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion, while representing Israel on the national stage at the senior, U16, U18 and U20 levels.
Karsh has appeared for the senior national team during the 2023 and 2025 FIBA Women's EuroBasket Qualifiers.
Karsh has represented Israel at the last two U20 Women's EuroBasket Tournaments, averaging 11 points and 3.6 rebounds in 2024 and 14.6 points and 5.3 rebounds in 2023. She tallied 12.3 points and 4.6 rebounds per game un the U18 Women's EuroBasket in 2022.
Karsh played in the Israeli National League for her hometown Haopel Rishon Le-Zion for the last five seasons, averaging 7.6 points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists over 115 appearances.
In 2025, Karsh guided her squad to runner-up honors in league play and the playoffs, behind 9.0 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists.
Karsh was tabbed the EuroBasket All-Israeli League Honorable Mention in 2024 after a career season with 14.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists. She helped Haopel Rishon Le-Zion to the Israeli National League Regular Season Championship in 2022 with 7.5 points per night.
Karsh's prep career included winning the Israeli National Cup in 2022 and 2021, while being named the Israeli Youth National Cup MVP and one of the top-5 players in the nation.
