WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – No. 12 Purdue Wrestling is ready to compete in the 2025 Big Ten Conference Wrestling Championships this weekend, hosted by Northwestern in Evanston, Illinois.
The two-day event begins Saturday with Session I starting at 11 a.m. ET inside Welsh-Ryan Arena.
Sessions I, II and IV will be televised on BTN. All four sessions will be streamed live on B1G+.
The Big Ten received 87 of 287 automatic qualifying bids for the NCAA Championships, the most of any conference.
The allocations are split among the 10 weight classes and represent how many Big Ten placewinners at each weight will automatically qualify for the national tournament, hosted in Philadelphia's Wells Fargo Center this year from March 20-22.

BOILER BULLETS
- Purdue wrestlers have won 347 medals in the 105-year history of the event, an average of 3.3 medalists per season. Head coach Tony Ersland is responsible for 58 of them through his first 10 years at Purdue (5.8 per season).
- The Boilermakers lay claim to 40 Big Ten individual titles. The most recent was Ryan Lange (174 lbs) in 2004.
- Purdue heads to Evanston as the sixth-youngest squad in the 14-team tournament. Redshirt senior Matt Ramos is the only Boilermaker not expected to return in 2025-26.
- Ramos enters the postseason 23-0 as the consensus No. 1 wrestler in the nation at 125 lbs.
- He is the first Boiler to finish a regular season undefeated since former 125-pound Big Ten champion Chris Fleeger in 2003.
- Ramos' path to 23-0 included nine ranked wins, seven of which still maintain a spot in the latest coaches' rankings. He beat the current No. 3, No. 4* (MFFL), No. 5, No. 15, No. 17, No. 19 and No. 22-ranked wrestlers in the country.
- Ramos holds the No. 1 pre-seed for a second straight year, the first Boilermaker in program history to be a multiple-time one-seed in the conference tournament.
- Joey Blaze enters as the No. 6 pre-seed in a loaded 157-pound field. He went 5-1 in Big Ten duals as a sophomore, with a full season record of 15-4.
- Blaze has never lost a bonus point match. He has 19 career bonus point victories himself.
- Brody Baumann checks in as the No. 8 pre-seed at 174. He has three ranked victories and earned an automatic bid to NCAAs last year.
- Along with Blaze, Greyson Clark was one of the two true freshman Boilers to make the NCAA tournament last season. He enters as the No. 9 pre-seed this year with five bonus point wins.
- Hayden Filipovich earned a top-10 pre-seed for the first time in his career. The heavyweight earned his first ranked win of the season in the home finale over Nebraska's then-No. 21 Harley Andrews.
