Nebraska holds a 13-2 advantage in the all-time series against Purdue, including a 7-1 record in West Lafayette. The Boilers' only home win against the Huskers came on Feb. 16, 1985, by a final score of 33-9.

Purdue's last win against Nebraska was an 18-15 upset (No. 15 vs. No. 9) in Lincoln, Nebraska, on Jan. 7, 2022. That win still stands as the Boilermakers' most recent top-10 dual victory.

An upset Sunday would mark Purdue's first top-10 win at home since Feb. 16, 1992.

Head coach Tony Ersland spent eight seasons (2007-14) as an assistant coach at Nebraska under head coach Mark Manning before taking the Purdue job in 2014. POTENTIAL RANKED MATCHUPS Purdue is represented by five wrestlers in the latest InterMat national rankings. The Huskers have one in each weight class, setting up as many as five ranked matches this weekend.

Though all 15 wrestlers are listed among the teams' probable starters, it is certainly possible that some of them will not wrestle on Sunday with the postseason just around the corner.

125 pounds: No. 1 Matt Ramos (PUR) vs. No. 7 Caleb Smith (NEB)

A rubber match that could very well serve as a Big Ten Championship preview. Ramos (23-0, 6-0 B1G) and Smith are the top two Big Ten wrestlers in the 125-pound rankings entering the final week of the regular season.

They have faced off twice before and split the series with one decision apiece last season. Smith won first at the 2023 Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invite in an 8-4 decision that went to tiebreakers before Ramos responded with a 5-2 decision at the Big Ten Championships.

This past December, Smith was the No. 1 seed at CKLV where Ramos entered as the No. 2 seed. Ramos won the title but did not match up with Smith, who was eliminated earlier in the bracket.

141 pounds: No. 27 Greyson Clark (PUR) vs. No. 6 Brock Hardy (NEB)

This would serve as the first meeting between the two ranked stars.

Hardy carries an 18-3 record into the bout as Clark (11-8, 3-2 B1G) rides in with a two-match win streak against Big Ten opposition.

157 pounds: No. 7 Joey Blaze (PUR) vs. No. 4 Antrell Taylor (NEB)

Blaze (15-3, 5-0 B1G) may put his undefeated Big Ten season record on the line to take on Taylor, who is 18-2. The bout is the second of two possible top-10 matches on Sunday night.

Blaze shocked the wrestling world in his first dual against Nebraska last year, pinning then-No. 3 Peyton Robb (6:22) in Lincoln for the highest ranked win of his career as a true freshman.

174 pounds: No. 25 Brody Baumann (PUR) vs. No. 10 Lenny Pinto (NEB)

Winner of two of his last three matches, Baumann (16-7, 3-4 B1G) will look for his fourth ranked win of the season when he takes on Pinto for the first time in his career.

Purdue's redshirt-sophomore shined in last season's meeting with the Huskers, picking up an upset 7-2 decision over No. 29 Bubba Wilson in Lincoln.

197 pounds: No. 27 Ben Vanadia (PUR) vs. No. 20 Camden McDanel (NEB)

Vanadia (16-8, 4-3 B1G) comes in hot on a three-match win streak to take on McDanel, who's 15-9 this season.

Both wrestlers hail from Ohio, but the two have never faced each other. McDanel defeated Vanadia's little brother, Luke, in the 16U finals in 2021.

But the older Vanadia will look to keep winning after registering his 10th bonus point victory of the season last Friday against Maryland. LAST TIME OUT

The Boilermakers improved to 10-5 on Valentine's Day with a 23-14 win over Maryland in Holloway Gymnasium.

Winning six of the 10 matches and three for bonus points, Ramos, Blaze and Vanadia led the way for the Boilermakers with two technical falls and a major decision, respectively.

Ramos raced to a 17-1 tech fall with a dramatic helicopter takedown finish to give Purdue a 5-0 lead early.

Blaze then matched the highest score by a Boilermaker all season in a 21-6 tech fall at 157 lbs, setting the team's season high for takedowns in a match (seven).

Vanadia capitalized with a 10-1 major decision to put Purdue on top for good in the penultimate match.
