WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – With Daryn Wright, Sophie McAfee and Kate Mouser leading the way as three-event scorers, 17 Boilermakers scored in at least one individual event for Purdue women's swimming & diving as the host of the Big Ten Championships.
Punctuated by a bronze medal in platform diving, Wright was a three-time championship finalist to account for a team-high 74 points, the most by a Boilermaker since Emily Bretscher (83) was also a three-time championship finalist as the 3-meter winner and Diver of the Championships at Big Tens in 2020. Wright's performance on the tower gave the Purdue women a medalist in the event for the seventh consecutive year. The sophomore is 6-for-6 in top-10 finishes for her career at Big Tens.
McAfee accounted for a career-high 71 points with three more top-10 finishes, making her 9-for-9 in her career at Big Tens. She was top five on both springboards and won the platform consolation final, giving her consol victories in all three diving events for her career. The women have five total consol final victories in diving events since 2022. Bretscher was also the last Boilermaker to finish top five in both springboards at Big Tens.
By accounting for 203 team points in her three years at Big Tens, McAfee has become the program's active career scoring leader as a junior.

With Maycey Vieta finishing fourth, Jaye Patrick sixth and Jenna Sonnenberg also scoring in the prelim, the Boilermakers racked up 101 team points on the tower, reaching the century mark in the event for the third consecutive year and fourth time in five years. That helped Purdue finish in sixth place in the team scoring with 572.5 points. Purdue was second in diving-only events (225 points). Amassing 80 additional team points this season allowed the Boilers to move up one spot in the team standings from a year ago.
Vieta finished no worse that fourth on the platform in her five career appearances at Big Tens. She'll close out her career having accounted for 190 team points at the conference championships. Vieta also teamed up with McAfee and Wright to help the Boilermakers win the exhibition team diving event on the opening night of the meet.
Mouser scored in the 200 breaststroke, 400 individual medley and 500 freestyle to join Alex Clarke (2016) as the team's only freshmen to score in all three of their individual events at Big Tens since the current top-24 scoring format went into effect in 2016. Mouser was also the program's first three-event scorer in the swimming events of any age since 2019. She posted lifetime bests in the 200 breast and 400 IM, moving into third place in team history in the latter. That represented the top new ranking on the program's all-time leaderboards achieved by any Boilermaker at Big Tens this year. In the process, she accounted for Purdue's best time in the 400 IM since Nika Karlina Petric set the current record at the 2016 Big Ten Championships.
Kendra Bowen, Abby Marcukaitis and Ana Rojas also moved into the top five in program history with their lifetime bests. Bowen posted the program's best 100 free time since November 2013 and Marcukaitis won the C final of the 200 back with the Boilermakers' best time in the event since Jackie Smailis set the current record at the 2019 Big Ten Championships.
