LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Thomas Green's two-out, two-run triple off the wall in center field headlined a four-run inning as Purdue baseball won game one of a seven-inning doubleheader and played Louisville even over 14 full innings of action in Sunday's fall ball exhibition game.

Both team scored 11 runs on the day. The Cardinals won the nightcap on a two-run homer in the final inning.

Camden Melvin contributed a sacrifice fly and Chase Brown connected for an RBI single before Green's triple punctuated the extended rally in the fourth inning. The Boilermakers loaded the bases with one out via a leadoff single from Keenan Spence coupled with free passes to Brody Chrisman and Jo Stevens. Chrisman finished the day 2-for-3 with two walks, a hit by pitch and three runs scored.

On the mound, Easton Storey, Cal Lambert and Brayden Olson all worked a 1-2-3 inning in game 2. Storey and Olson both struck out a pair. Jackson Dannelley induced four ground ball outs to close out the game 1 win, putting together a 1-2-3 inning vs. Louisville's 4-5-6 hitters.

Davis Pratt retired six of the seven batters he faced over two innings of one-run ball. Aaron Suval escaped a bases-loaded jam in the third inning, working around a leadoff double. He joined Luke Wagner and Pratt as Boilermakers to pitch two full innings.

Purdue scored twice in the first inning of both games, opting to roll over its same lineup into the nightcap of the twinbill. Breck Nowik and Logan Sutter delivered first-inning RBI, with Sutter accounting for the third of three consecutive two-out hits to begin game 2. Melvin and Nowik each drove in a run in multiple plate appearances.

The Boilermakers capitalized on four walks and some wild pitches to score twice in the sixth inning of the nightcap, pulling even at 4-4.

Purdue has open scrimmages set for Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday this upcoming week. Dayton visits Alexander Field for another fall ball exhibition game on Sunday, Oct. 15. Admission is free for all fall ball events.
