ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Maycey Vieta's conference title on the tower, Maggie Merriman winning a medal in the same event for the fourth straight year and a pair of top-five all-time marks in two of the premier sprint freestyle events highlighted Purdue women's swimming & diving's successful week at the Big Ten Championships.
Led by a meet-high 237 points from the divers, 18 Boilermakers scored at Big Tens this season. Sophie McAfee finished top 10 in all three diving events for the second year in a row to finish as the team's top scorer (67 points) again. She accounted for an impressive 132 points as an underclassman at Big Tens.
Daryn Wright also finished top 10 in all three diving events in her debut at the Big Ten Championships, accounting for 57 team points to rank second on the squad. Wright matched McAfee's freshman-year accomplishment of sweeping the springboard consolation finals.

Hannah Hill moved into third place in program history in the 50 free (22.56) while winning the C final of the event Thursday. She posted Purdue's best time in the event in a decade. The next day she teamed up with Maggie Love, Kendra Bowen and Kendal Schreder to post the Boilermakers' fourth-fastest time (1:30.74) in the 200 free relay. Again, it was the team's best mark in a decade. Bowen improved on her eighth-fastest 100 free time (49.70) on the leadoff leg of the 400 free relay, helping the same relay quartet move into ninth place (3:18.98) in team history.
Lindsay Turner is closing out her career as a four-year scorer at Big Tens. The Purdue graduate finished as the runner-up in the B final of the 200 butterfly for a top-10 overall finish in the event. Turner is the top-scoring swimmer at Big Tens in the Boilermakers' Class of 2023. Masy Folcik has an opportunity to become a four-year scorer as a senior next season.
