<br /><br />The No. 9 Purdue Boilermakers extended their win streak to 20 consecutive victories over Indiana with a five set thriller in Wilkinson Hall on Friday night (24-26, 25-22, 15-25, 25-15, 15-10.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.  – The No. 9 Purdue Boilermakers extended their win streak to 20 consecutive victories over Indiana with a five set thriller in Wilkinson Hall on Friday night (24-26, 25-22, 15-25, 25-15, 15-10.

With the win, Purdue moves to 15-2, 6-1 in the Big Ten this season while Indiana falls to 9-10, 2-5 in the Big Ten.

Redshirt junior setter Megan Renner guided the team with her first career double-double, posting 41 assists and a career-high 12 digs.

Despite the Hoosier's efforts to slow Eva Hudson, the freshman ended the night with 18 kills, including the match-winner. Meanwhile, Emma Ellis registered 14 kills, one shy of her career-best set a season ago, and a team-best .367 attack % (14-3-30).

Libero Maddie Schermerhorn anchored the team with 23 digs. Sophomore middle blocker Raven Colvin closed out the night with five blocks and eight kills.

The Boilermakers and Hoosiers are slated to meet once more this season on Sunday, October 30. The 1 p.m. ET match, hosted in West Lafayette will be for the rights to the Monon Spike trophy.

No. 9 Purdue will be back on Sunday in Holloway Gymnasium for a 1 p.m. ET matinee vs. Maryland. The match will be available for streaming on B1G+.

Set Three (15-25)
  • Boilers posted six unanswered points to cut the lead, 11-12, but Purdue struggled to find their rhythm as Indiana ran away with the set.
Set Four (25-15)
  • Purdue handed Indiana an identical score after a decisive 10 consecutive points proved an insurmountable hill following a 7-8 deficit.
  • As a team, Purdue hit .520 in the set behind 14 kills and one attack error.
  • Emma Ellis led the team with four kills and no errors on six swings.
Set Five (15-10)
  • Raven Colvin had an explosive set, tallying three kills and a block assist in Purdue's first seven points.
  • Maddie Schermerhorn totaled 8 digs in the set.
  • The Boilermakers took and maintained the lead after Colvin's kill evened the score, 4-4.
