WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The No. 10 Purdue Boilermakers secured their fifth sweep of the season with their 25-17, 25-23, 25-12 victory over Northern Kentucky. With the result, Purdue moves to 8-1 on the season while NKU falls to 1-9.

Out-hitting their opponents 45-24 in kills and .309-.063 in efficiency, the Boilermakers found their stride behind Eva Hudson's 15 kills and Raven Colvin's eight total blocks (two solo, six assisted). It was a career-best in efficiency for the freshman (15-1-28) in addition to tying her record in digs (8).

In total, three starters including Hudson hit over .500 in the match: Hannah Clayton (8-1-13 for .538%), Megan Renner (4-0-6 for a .667%) and Hudson. Additionally, outside hitter Emily Rastovski registered two kills on three swings for a .667% in the third set.

Renner went errorless on the attack for the second consecutive match (4-0-6) while adding 29 assists and a career-high tying eight digs.

Defensively, No. 10 Purdue out-blocked NKU 10-5, marking the fourth time this season the Boilermakers reached double-digits. Five Boilermakers contributed at least two block assists in the win, including Madeline Koch and Hudson's three apiece.

The Stacey Clark Classic resumes tomorrow with a 4 p.m. neutral site match between Northern Kentucky and Ball State. Purdue will return to Belin Court on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET to close out their non-conference slate vs. Ball State on B1G+.

  • The Boilermakers went on a 6-1 run to close out the set, 25-17

Set Two Highlights
  • Despite the Norse taking an early 9-4 lead, Purdue responded by going on a 10-3 run to take the lead at 14-12. Although NKU crept back within one point at 21-20 and then again at 23-22 and 24-23, Hudson recorded the next kill in each of the scores to give Purdue the advantage and set point.
  • Purdue hit .333 in the set, backed by only three errors in the set and five Boilermakers hitting .500 or better.
  • Colvin secured four block assists in the set.

Set Three Highlights
  • Purdue started out with a 10-2 advantage, powered by four consecutive blocks. On the string of stuffs, middle blocker Colvin assisted on each, while Hudson and Madeline Koch split the efforts.
  • Maddie Schermerhorn tallied seven digs in the set along with an ace.
  • As a team, Purdue forced seven attack errors and allowed just six Norse kills.
