LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Purdue Boilermakers (7-1) bounced back in the final match of the Louisville Invitational with their highest hitting % of the season, notching a .422 efficiency in its sweep over Xavier (25-19, 25-17, 25-13).
In addition to ranking as the second-most efficient attack % by a Big Ten team this season, the Boilermakers saw 47 receptions, allowing just one reception error.
Freshman Eva Hudson led both teams with 21 kills, tying her career-high while averaging a .475 attack %, the most efficient match of her young career.
Setter Megan Renner accounted for 39 of Purdue's 50 assists, a team performance which is the second-most by a Big Ten team in a three-set match this year. Additionally, the redshirt junior went errorless on the attack, producing three kills on four attempts.
Meanwhile, Raven Colvin secured a .500 attack % with 11 kills on 18 swings with two errors.
Purdue will close out the regular season next week in Holloway Gymnasium with the Stacey Clark Classic. The Boilermakers will play Thursday, Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. ET vs. Northern Kentucky and Saturday, Sept. 17 at 4 p.m. ET. Both matches will be streamed on B1G+.
