KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Purdue volleyball team will return home as Tennessee Classic tournament champions after ending the opening week of the season, 3-0. The Boilermakers took down the Lady Vols, 3-1 (20-25, 25-23, 25-18, 29-19).
Eva Hudson was named MVP of the tournament and was joined by Madeline Koch and Maddie Schermerhorn as All-Tournament Team honorees.
Four Boilermakers reached double-digit kills at Tennessee, including three who set or matched career-highs and a season-best .327 attack % and 61 digs.
Koch recorded 12 kills, a career-best. Meanwhile, Raven Colvin and Maddy Chinn tied their career-highs of 11 and 10 kills, respectively and Maddie Schermerhorn dug 18 balls, matching the best she set the night before.
In the match, Hudson led Purdue with 17 kills. The six-rotation outside hitter added six digs and an ace.
Colvin hit her groove during the match, committing no errors in the final three sets and allowing just one on the night.
